When I started my fitness journey, I was determined to figure things out on my own. I remember walking into supplement stores and buying anything that promised to burn fat. I would spend my nights bingeing YouTube videos of girls who had my “dream body” so that I could copy their diets and workouts, which oftentimes involved an intense training program and a lot of cardio.
I thought I was doing all the right things, but it wasn’t working. Doing it their way left me feeling unhappy and frustrated by the fact that I couldn’t eat my favourite foods, and when I did, I always felt guilty for not being more disciplined.
